Just in case you are new to the blog and haven't questioned my sanity here you go. A before and after look at our house. Sorry, the before's are photo's I found and re-photo-ed so they aren't as clear.
Wasn't she a wreck??? I was stunned when I found the photos a little bit ago. It was such a shock I can't believe I saw anything worth buying or saving! Phil told me a few months ago that every other person we bid against for the house was planning on tearing it down. My Dad had heard how trashed it was and was so upset we "wasted" (my word not his) our money on it. It's taking much more time then I thought it would take. About a week after we bought it I found out I was pregnant. That took us down another new road that further slowed the process! It stretches my confidence and faith. But in the end, it will be worth it. I think...
It was a place to be loved, and full of potential. You have done wonders with it already. Truly a stunning change! I think it is a wonderful house on a good piece of land.
Oh, Anne! (from CA) You have made a dream-come-true home in this city girl's brain. It's all storybook:God's gifts of all the land to spread out & live on. Plus what imagination & drive to bring this to fruition. & lots of sore muscles. APPLAUSE!
WOW- I'm glad you found the before pictures because I never got a chance to see the house before you started painting. You and Phil have done a wonderful job of workign on restoring the house. I think it's worth it and I know you have wonderful memories in the house and I'm sure you will create many more.
Ever wonder why this site is called About a Bug? Well, that would be my fault. Hours after I had Matthew, I started calling him my bug-a-boo. He was just so cute and precious. Slowly over time he became my bug and more family members adopted that as a nickname. When we decided to start the blog, it seemed only appropriate to call it "about a bug," because isn't everything about the baby? Matthew thinks so.

Erin, thank you, I thought it was pretty amazing and I've been in on the whole process!
Auntie, it is full of potential isn't it? I forgot that sometimes, but I NEVER forget that it's on some awesome acreage.
Mom, I know you fell in love, you influenced me.
Susan, you are so kind! There is definitely sore muscles at times. You are welcome to come anytime. The boy and the dogs are very special aren't they?
