Officially Summer

For me, know it really is summer finally, when the family has gone to the rodeo! It's family tradition. Matthew has been every year since he was created. He went to the first one in the womb a week out from being born.

Smallest cowboy waiting in his new shirt.

Waiting in the muggy heat for the rodeo to start.

They honored all the military by having a different rider carry each branch's flag. Here is a terrible picture of the Army rider.

All the bucking action.

A hilarious rodeo clown, Slim and his BBQ.

And in Matthew's opinion, the best part was convincing MaMaw to buy him a bubble gun that lights up.

How do you know when it's officially summer?

I know it's summer because I saw a firefly last night.

I know it's summer when it is as hot as it was last night at the rodeo! We enjoyed your pics of our fun family tradition!

Yes, almost nothing says summer better then fireflies! And the heat. I haven't seen fireflies yet, I'm jealous!

The littlest cowboy looks quite respectable. He sure is growing. When are his grandparents going to get him a live pony? He's almost outgrown his rocking pony.

Memorial Day Weekend says summer to me!

Summer is here when June gloom blesses us with its cooling fog for just a little longer! And suddenly is gone: replaced with the summer sun. But, alas! No fireflies here...sounds like I'm missing out.

Yes, that is a shame Susan!
