Parents aren't supposed to get sick are they? Especially not sick enough to go to the hospital. For the first time since my Dad was a boy, he has landed in the hospital. We are all hoping it won't take 30 days for him to get out this time. The word is getting around here that he was in the hospital, so I'm going to go ahead and share. He was admitted Thursday afternoon. By Saturday afternoon our hospital felt he needed more care and he was sent to a bigger hospital, which caused us to start to panic. He has 3 different kinds of bacteria in his blood. The doctor thinks it came from an internal organ that is inflamed, like the gallbladder, kidneys ect, but won't know till they do an ultrasound tomorrow. On top of it, his heartbeat is irregular and just sitting on the side of the bed was making his heart beat double what it should. The doctor feels confident that they have caught it all in time and that the heart issue isn't as serious as it first seemed. We've all lost some sleep this week and have gotten behind on what we planned to do, but we are all ok. My Mom is out of town with my Dad, and Matthew and I are taking care of the house and pets. I just wanted to share why we haven't been around much this week. And perhaps next week as well.

This is terrible. You are the 3rd blogger I know now that has a family member in the hospital with a blood infection. I will keep your dad in my thoughts and wish him a speedy diagnosis and recovery.
It was good to see your dad midday, and he seemed to be having a good day. Your mom and I went out to get some things she needed, and had a nice visit. I am so glad I went over. Next weekend I plan to see you and Matthew.
So sorry to hear this. I'll be keeping him in my thoughts.
Thank you all so much for your prayers and caring thoughts. We are back home (as of an hour ago) and and he is almost back to normal! He still has 7 days of antibiotics to take! Thank you Anne, Matthew and Phil for helping us out and encouraging us!
