Our big news

Now I know that you all will have lots of questions, and I don't have the answers, because Phil and I are batting them around the house right now. All I can tell you is that Phil got the position. He will be working with his division's soldiers that are hurt. He will help the soldiers and their families make sure they have what they need. The position will last a year. The whole time he will still be attached to the unit he is with now. This will require us moving to San Antonio. By April 15th. They will give us a 1 bedroom apartment. That is the extent of what I know. Stay tuned as our life changes even more...

Congratulations! Phil will be good at that because he really cares about his troops. (And to care for the troops is to care for their families.) Plus he has some sense of how tough it is to not be able to do what you wish you were doing. That will make him even better. Is there an Army hospital or rehab ctr in San Antonio? (I know the Air Force has one.)

Oh, things change rapidly don't they. Any chance you could get into a community garden in your new locale? If you're going to be there for a year, you could maybe grow something- of course, they've probably already started their gardening season there.

Sounds like a challenging assignment, but know that Phil will do a super job with the injured and families. San Antonio has much to offer, so Anne and Matthew will be busy gaining knowledge and experiences. Bet there are many fine people working at the care units who will become your friends. I am excited for you, I always liked the next move. (oh, but not all the WORK of moving).perhaps you could have the Army move your stuff!!! Love, Maurine

Oh wow! I agree with Maurine about the move. One bedroom? You'll be a little more crowded, but it's only for a year!

Now that I've had a moment to adjust to this news, I realize that I failed to congratulate Phil on getting the job! Way to go!!!!! He'll do great! And the move will be a new adventure for all three of you!

Thank you Auntie, he will be good at it, he likes taking care of his soldiers. I have no idea what hospital he will be working out of or clinic, or office...

Judy, it's just been a non-stop rollercoaster around here. We've been a 1 house family for 5 months March 1st. By time time we move, we'll have only lived in our new house 5 months. This new move will be move #4. Wow! I never thought about trying to get a community plot...I've already started seedlings that are destined for pots, but who knows if the apartment will even face a good direction for light...I'll have that to look into that...thanks for mentioning it.

Maurine, moving is sortof exciting, even if the actually moving is a pain. I hope that we get to do some really cool stuff while we are there.

Mom, crowded is the word! We'll make it though, just nice to all live under the same roof.
