Childhood memories

The 6th time I've tried to upload photos today worked like a charm, so here is a part of what I was trying to post today.

We're just trying to soak up all the good weather and fun things here before we leave! (Note: I climbed that very same chain thing and swing set from K-5th at 2 different schools. Watching him play brings back many memories and emotions.)

I am so surprised to discover that you played on some of this same equipment! I guess they moved most of it over to the new site. How fun to take your son to play on the very same equipment that you used!

Yes, surprise! I can still even remember some of how it was all arranged. Some was behind the 2nd grade room and some in front. Swings, teeter totters, and merry-go-round in front. Jungle gym, climbing chain thing, pull up thing in back. I think there could have been a slide, but? I wished they could have brought the huge jungle gym and merry-go-round over. They were my favorites.

We had an enormous and wonderful merry go round that was the sole property of the first grade. It seemed as if the entire class could wedge on. A couple of the boys would push from the outside then leap aboard. Such pushing and leaping procedures were frowned upon, but my pal Kendall was usually one of the pushers. I thought about Washington Grade School as I was going to sleep last night and think I recall how the playground was laid out,as well. Your mom and I should compare notes. Fun!

Yep, I recall most of that playground too at our Washington Grade School at YC! And Anne, I recall the equipment in front of the second grade at the old Washington School in CG.
