Shopping

Matthew and I went shopping today. Mommy needed a new helmet for a charity ride that her and Daddy are going on soon. Her old one was so tight that it gave her headaches. (And it'd fallen off the bike once and then Mom heaved it once...minor, minor issues...unless you are talking about the one thing that might keep you alive in a crash...) Anyway, Matthew helped me look, but he was much more into the motorcycles. He kept trying to escape me so that he could talk to his lady love, but Mom had visions on one after another, after another, tumbling down, so she kept a tight watch on him. He was crushed. On the way out of the store, he announced he needed a helmet too. I told him soon enough he'd be cruising around with Dad. For now he has to settle with modeling Mommy's new helmet.

Isn't he just a great model?

I like your new helmet and hope it fits better and does not get dropped. Your model is very cute!

Wait! Your mom chunked your helmet?

Hey! Why are you accusing the mom? No fair!

Yes, to clarify, I was the one who threw her helmet, not my Mom. She's innocent. I was sortof writing from Matthew's viewpoint. Hehe, it would be funny to frame the mother...

Oh. I am glad your mom didn't contribute to the helmet's demise. I expect there is a story behind your action, but I am NOT going to ask. Probably the less said about that the better!

I think it was merely clumsiness--not intentional! No one's fault really!!! OK, I'm not calling anyone clumsy either, but if the helmet fits...

I was going to let this story just go softly into the night, but I can't. I just can't wear the clumsy helmet. It'd already fallen off the bike and bounced across a parking lot (via the huge gust of wind, 30 mins after buying it). 2 years later Matthew had been carrying it and dropping it on the wooden floor. So I mentioned to the husband it really should go to his house since that's where the bike is, only to be told I should be more responsible and keep it out of the kids reach. So I did what any mature wife and mom would do. I took it upstairs and chucked it. Very mature, I know, but I felt better! So, to recap, there was no clumsiness here, unless Matthew wasn't meaning to drop it so much. Whee, glad I got that off my chest.

Your new helmet is cuter anyway! I'm glad you got it.
