Last summer, in the kinderGARDEN contest, we were encouraged to let our children take photos outside of things that interested them. So with that in the back of my mind, when Matthew wanted to take photos today, I graciously turned over my dear A590 to him. He took alot of photos, but here are the ones that spoke to me the most. I'll let them speak for themselves.

I enjoyed Matthew's photos. They have some really interesting composition showing texture, shadows, etc. to add interest! And of course he included one of his very own mommy!
I checked out the OHC link that you provided in the other entry. I could spend the whole afternoon exploring her blog. Something that particularly fascinated me was her quotes from Charlotte Mason's teachings. I had just discovered C.M. myself a bit earlier when I was checking out the Handbook of Nature Studies book and found more titles to explore! Thanks for sharing this interesting new learning with me!
I think he probably has plans for that gate out back!! I wouldn't be surprised if he is calculating ways to get over, under or through it!
Love the shot of his shoes as well!!
I love the picture of the fence and the vines- great composition and it looks like something I would try to do. Maybe, next year he could create table books for everybody for Christmas.
Mom, I thought that he got really neat composition too. (Some by chance since he's only 3 1/2 and just points and clicks.) I still have more to explore on her site.
Cathryn, oh my gosh, I never thought of that! He could probably get it open and squeeze through the barb wire. I better watch him closer...
Angela, that's a good idea, he better take more photos!
No wonder he was so interested in beyond-the-fence. I think I saw tanks on the skyline. IS that gate fixed so Matthew can't open it? Can you imagine what the soldiers would think if they saw Matthew heading for them?! Maybe they'd take him on a tour of Tanker City.
Auntie, I think a spiny vine has grown into the lever part of it. And it probably hasn't been opened for years, so it might not want to. I'm sure he'd enjoy a tour though. (And yes, we were taking tank photos together!)
