"The chickens dye the eggs...

...I know because we read about it at school. Then the chickens give the eggs to the Easter Bunny to hide them. So why would we dye eggs?" Why indeed. So we didn't dye eggs. And the heavens poured forth hallelujahs Sunday, since Jesus was raised from the dead and the chickens had done their work.

Hippity hoppity Easter's on it's way...

Does anything about tank photo look unusual to you??

Well how about this personal carrier? No you say, well I'd advise you to enlarge them and look again.

Last Saturday was Easter at our house. With the big move looming on Monday, and the Cav Easter egg hunt on Saturday, we decided to just move it up.

Matthew was ready to hunt those eggs.

Not your average hunt.

There was so many eggs that Matthew filled his basket and I had to dump some in a plastic bag so he could continue.

The boys thought about talking to the Easter Bunny and vetoed it.

And here is our storage unit. We packed alot in.

Spring fling

We set out on a trip back home to do taxes among other things. Some of those other things included making sandwiches and eating them on the way at a random stop in OK...

...And finding little houses at that stop that delighted little boys...

...Saw little friends for the last time before kindergarten at least...

...pretended to be leprechauns with our very best friend at story time on St. Patrick's Day...

...We walked the trail and discussed tracks we found. Lots of stuff we learned on the trail.

We enjoyed the beauty of the old. Much older then we... *photo by Phil

...of much younger then us... *photo by Phil

...Small dogs got all tangled up... *photo by Phil

...Others were just magnificent... *photo by Phil

...A small boy and aunt dance the day away...

...while on another day the small boy finds eggs...

...good ole KS bunny...

...new plants are planted happily...

... and animals are spotted eating other animals food.

Happy Spring!

Spring springing and more

Finally photos of the ring neck doves together. One white, one gray.

Look at those horns!

Our mockingbird is courting.

We have had stuff sprouting for at least 2 weeks now.

It's my favorite time of year again!

And the boy has developed a taste for them too, NOOOOOOOO!

Plum tree in full bloom, peach, well the one off shoot area is about to have 6 blooms. Our neighbors healthy tree is beautiful though.

Gotta love these boys.

Easter and the last Easter egg hunt at our house

Could it be? Did the Easter Bunny visit? Yes! Yes he did! What a pile of goodness!

There is definately eggs in the grass...

Matthew didn't even make it to his basket before he started collecting eggs!

Wow, an Etch a Sketch!

Here's another egg!

When he picked up the big egg he's going for Matthew said, "What egg is this?" He then dropped the egg and said, "I don't need this one!" We laughed so hard and told him he might as well take it anyway!

A full basket.

After this it was hurry all 3 adults and one small boy through the shower and into the car to eat Easter dinner with my parents and Auntie. After lunch we visited my Grandmom, who was surprised to discover the Easter bunny left stuff for her too! We were were looking all cute and dressed up, and wouldn't you know, no one took a picture.

The KC Easter bunny sent alot of yummy stuff down with Auntie. She brought all these great trucks and digging equipment for yard season at my parents. Matthew was beyond excited and proceed to waste no time using them. The Easter bunny that stops at my parents also left tons to eat, so we have a very very full candy bowl around here. I'm thinking my waistline in suffering for it! Hope the Easter Bunny was good to all of you!

Because 1 egg hunt wasn't enough

The full basket of coached success.

Oh, here's one.

I found just one...

We live in an area where it is possible to hit 2, if not 3 Easter egg hunts. This year we decided to step into the big leagues and go to 2. Matthew still needs lots of coaching to get the eggs. He will literally just pass them all by if we don't tell him to stop. But luckily for him he had not 2 but 3 people to help find eggs with him. Angela is staying the weekend with us and got to experience the egg hunt with us. In a few minutes we will dye Easter eggs for Matthew to find outside tomorrow. Happy Easter everyone!

Sugar high letdown

We are riding the waves of sugar highs tonight. I guarantee that we will all sleep like babies from the amount of sugar products consumed lately. We had a fabulous Easter and Matthew gained way too much stuff, amen. We now have 2 bunnies that jiggle and sing Easter songs to the boy. Of course he is very taken with them. Mom and Dad try to ignore them! But it's a right of passage I'm sure. I received a singing bunny from my Grandmom probably around 3rd grade. It sang the Easter Parade. I wonder where it is and if it still works...(note to self: Dig deeper in the pit called your childhood room.) I'm now wondering how to store all our wonderful spring/Easter stuff...(2nd note to self: start buying plastic tubs-running out of decent sized boxes and diaper boxes are NOT cutting it.) (3rd note to self: holiday storage room is running out of room-make plans to enlarge house.)

Phil left for home today while Matthew and I went to run the afterschool program. Matthew spotted Bailey and abandoned Mom completely. So much for the Mother-Son connection. When I went to retrieve him, he threw a complete temper tantrum because I dared to remove him from a "shake and go car" that another little boy had brought. I'm sooooo thoughtless. Sigh. I'm exhausted from all the sugar, I mean the day, so I'm off to bed!

A full day of the outdoors

I'm sleeping with you tonight Dad.

See, I'm all tucked in.

Thanks Dad!

I've heard blue lips were all the rage when Mom went to high school.

The hunt...

It was another big day in our household, but not because we made history. (We've refused to potty in the big boy potty again for the last 2 days, but I'm hopeful.) We got up as early as we could, considering that Matthew kept us up half the night, and went to the Easter egg hunt. It was fun watching him. I told him to get the eggs, so he picked up one and wanted to examine it instead of running to get another. I told him to run and he ran past the eggs. But he managed to pick up a decent amount. After that we went to sign taxes so they could be sent off and stopped at the parents. Mom and I worked on her front flower beds and managed to move 2 of her big plants that were too big to be right next to the sidewalk. 2 down, 2 to go. After we left their house, we came home and worked on some outdoor stuff here. There's always so much stuff to do isn't there?
